"This place has the best, most delicious, homemade style perfection cheeseburger. The barbeque plate looked perfectly delicious. I will be back. On the downside, the noise level might be intense. I've only been once and there was a family party that made conversation nearly impossible."

"Service was zippy and with a smile. Food was hot and tasty! Perfect after a long hike! Highly recommend the hush puppies and cheese curds!"

"If someone says there's no reason to go to Lansing, I disagree -- especially if what you want is authenticity, friendliness, and food that feels like it was made by someone who cares about what they're putting on your plate. The Log House may not be flashy, but it has soul. For those who enjoy small town charm, honest cooking, and that "local place everyone knows" atmosphere, this hits the mark. Don't expect fancy decor or huge dining rooms -- the space is cozy, very much local, very much genuine. The service is warm, friendly, and informal, just as you'd hope from a small town joint. Hamburger Steak with Vegetables: This is a highlight. Hearty, satisfying, cooked with care. If comfort food is what you want, this hits the spot."

"Great small town diner experience ! Walked in at 10:30 could get breakfast OR lunch. Both were delicious, portion size perfect- left filled but not stuffed. Prices were excellent plus we got 10% off for being veterans. LOVED the BIBLE verses and vet decor. Waitresses very friendly and efficient. Would definitely eat here again !!"

"Five stars depending on what you are looking for. I was there on a Saturday morning. It is a humble country home type of place. You seat yourself. It was very relaxed. My impression of family-owned and operated. Not a place to be in a hurry. The place is small. Definitely a local dive and very friendly. There were also a lot of out-of-towners but I did not notice any side-eyes. The breakfast was really great. I would drive 20 mins for that sausage egg and cheese and home fries again. The drive there was beautiful. I'm a coffee snob. It was probably Maxwell House or Folgers :(. . I got my coffee fix from the general store up the street which was amazing."

"Decided to eat here instead of the touristy places in West Jefferson. Not very busy on Thursday at 1:30. Staff very friendly. I had meatloaf sandwich daily special. It was delicious. My very picky husband loved his turkey club. Prices very reasonable. We will be back."

"Update: 7/28/23 for their new location in Lansing, NC. Nice place, very clean. It's actually a "Log House" now. Friendly and kind serivce. Food was Great. Try the Smithey Burger. Good flavor with Sage. Similar to a Sausage Burger flavor. Add Cheese and Chili to it to make it even better. The Double is Huge and Delicious A basket of fries is splitable between two with the big burgers. Two people with Drinks and Tip ($34) much better than paying the same at Hardee's, BK, or McD's. Definitely worth a try."
